龚玄之，武陵汉寿人。
晋书卷九十四 列传第六十四：
龚玄之，字道玄，武陵汉寿人也。父登，历长沙相、散骑常侍。玄之好学潜默，安于陋巷。州举秀才，公府辟，不就。孝武帝下诏曰："夫哲王御世，必搜扬幽隐，故空谷流絷维之咏，丘园旅束帛之观。谯国戴逵、武陵龚玄之并高尚其操，依仁游艺，洁己贞鲜，学弘儒业，朕虚怀久矣。二三君子，岂其戢贤于怀抱哉！思挹雅言，虚诚讽议，可并以为散骑常侍，领国子博士，指下所在备礼发遣，不得循常，以稽侧席之望。"郡县敦逼，苦辞疾笃，不行。寻卒，时年五十八。
弟子元寿，亦有德操，高尚不仕，举秀才及州辟召，并称疾不就。孝武帝以太学博士、散骑侍郎、给事中累征，遂不起。卒于家。
