龙文光，马平人，天启二年进士。崇祯十七年，以川北参政擢右佥都御史，代陈士奇巡抚四川。闻命，与总兵官刘佳引率兵三千，由顺庆驰赴之。部署未定，数日而城陷。贼尽驱文武将吏及军民男妇于东门之外，将戮之，忽有龙尾下垂，贼以为瑞，遂停刑。文光、佳引卒不屈，贼杀文光于濯锦桥，佳引自投于浣花溪。
