高谦，湖南沅江人。
清史稿卷四百九十六 列传二百八十三：
高谦，字敬亭，湖南沅江人。同治季年，从左宗棠度陇司书记，以劳保县丞，发安徽。光绪八年，宗棠督两江，委谦淮北督销分局，连任十有七年，盐商馈遗皆不受；受代，典衣裘而行：商民颂之。三十三年，补安徽阜阳县丞，清严不妄入民间一钱，知县有过举，辄阴为规正，民尤爱戴之。宣统三年九月二十五日，安庆变作，变兵旋入阜阳，左右劝谦引避，厉声斥曰：“名位虽卑，大节不易，吾岂苟活者耶？”即夕饮鸩自尽。凌晨家人入视，则衣冠端坐，气绝，面如生，年七十有四。民闻之，皆走哭，议立祠祀之，因乱未果。
