高善继，江西彭泽人。
清史稿卷四百九十四 列传二百八十一：
高善继，字次浦，江西彭泽人。由附生举同治元年孝廉方正，朝考用教职，署弋阳县训导。举优行，皆寒畯士，积弊为清。寻调赣州府学教授，又调南安。光绪十四年，举乡荐，会试不第，谒李鸿章於天津，鸿章，其父执也，语不合，投通永镇总兵吴育仁幕下。二十年，日本侵朝鲜，廷议主战。六月，善继佐营官骆佩德乘英国高升轮船运送军实。驶至牙山口外，日本举旗招抚，善继不肯屈。管驾英人先逸去，善继忿极，令悬红旗示战备，且进薄之。方与佩德指挥御敌，忽船中鱼雷，逾时，水势注射益汹涌，众强善继及佩德亟下，善继奋然曰：“吾辈自请杀敌，而临难即避，纵归，何面目见人？且吾世受国恩，今日之事，一死而已！”佩德曰：“如此，吾岂忍独生？”高升船遂沉，善继溺死，佩德从之。
时护行者为济远舰，亦为敌船在丰岛袭击，大副都司沈寿昌坚守炮位，竭力还攻。及中炮阵亡，则守备柯建章继之；复阵亡，则黄承勋继之。与军功王锡三、管旗刘鹍同与於难，争趋死地，奋不顾身，尤为当时所称。广乙快船管轮把总何汝宾，亦於是役中弹阵亡。
