策，字锺侯，福建晋江人。由铜山守备调淡水。一贵陷台湾，策孤军力守一隅。奸人苑景文入境煽诱，擒诛之。师下台湾，满保檄剿北路，复南嵌、竹堑、中港、后垄、吞霄、大甲诸社。以功擢台湾总兵，加左都督。卒。
