陆龟蒙，字鲁望，元方七世孙也。父宾虞，以文历侍御史。龟蒙少高放，通《六经》大义，尤明《春秋》。举进士，一不中，往从湖州刺史张抟游，抟历湖、苏二州，辟以自佐。尝至饶州，三日无所诣。刺史蔡京率官属就见之，龟蒙不乐，拂衣去。
