陆据者，周上庸公腾六代孙。少孤。文章俊逸，言论纵横。年三十余，始游京师，举进士。公卿览其文，称重之，辟为从事。累官至司勋员外郎。天宝十三载卒。
开元、天宝间，文士知名者，汴州崔颢、京兆王昌龄、高适、襄阳孟浩然，皆名位不振，唯高适官达，自有传。
