宋史卷三百三十三 列传第九十二：
阎询，字议道，凤翔天兴人。少时以学问著闻，擢进士第，又中书判拔萃科。累迁秘书丞，为监察御史里行。诏治王素狱，坐有姻嫌不以闻，降监河阳酒税，累迁为盐铁判官。使契丹。询颇谙北方疆理，时契丹在靴淀，迓者王惠导询由松亭往，询曰："此松亭路也，胡不径葱岭而迂枉若是，岂非夸大国地广以相欺邪？"惠惭不能对。加直龙图阁、知梓州。徙河东转运使，言：三路土兵疲老者，听其族以强壮者代。"从之。进集贤殿修撰、知河中府。大河涨，坏浮桥，询易为长桥。拜天章阁待制、知广州，不即赴，罢职知商州。神宗转右谏议大夫，改邠、同二州，提举上清太平宫，卒，年七十九。
