阎朝隐，赵州栾城人。
旧唐书卷一百九十中 列传第一百四十：
阎朝隐，赵州栾城人也。少与兄镜几、弟仙舟俱知名。朝隐文章虽无《风》、《雅》之体，善构奇，甚为时人所赏。累迁给事中，预修《三教珠英》。张易之等所作篇什，多是朝隐及宋之问潜代为之。圣历二年，则天不豫，令朝隐往少室山祈祷。朝隐乃曲申悦媚，以身为牺牲，请代上所苦。及将康复，赐绢彩百匹、金银器十事。俄转麟台少监。易之伏诛，坐徙岭外。寻召还。先天中，复为秘书少监。又坐事贬为通州别驾，卒官。
朝隐修《三教珠英》时，成均祭酒李峤与张昌宗为修书使，尽收天下文词之士为学士，预其列者，有王无竞、李适、尹元凯，并知名于时。自余有事迹者，各见其本传。
