钱应溥，浙江嘉兴人。
清史稿卷四百三十九 列传二百二十六：
钱应溥，字子密，浙江嘉兴人。拔贡生，朝考一等，用七品小京官，分吏部，直军机。咸丰十年，粤寇连陷浙东西郡县，应溥父海宁州学训导泰吉，质行朴学，老儒也，时已罢官，州人留主讲书院。应溥闻警，亟请归奉亲，转徙经年，须发为白。
曾国藩治兵安庆，招入幕，工为文檄，敏捷如夙构。国藩屡欲特荐，皆力辞。同治三年，奏加五品卿衔。大军征捻，驻周家口。捻宵至，守卒仅千人，众骇惧，应溥镇静若无事然。於是国藩坚卧不起，捻卒不敢犯。晋四品卿衔，国藩深倚重之，其督两江，有大兴革，上奏辞皆嘱应溥具草。
光绪初，养亲事毕，乃入都，重直军机，擢员外郎。恭忠亲王、醇贤亲王相继秉政，皆嘉其谙练。每承旨缮诏，顷刻千言，曲当上意。累迁礼部侍郎。偕尚书昆冈按事河南，自巡抚裕宽以下降黜有差。朝鲜事起，廷议主战，应溥造膝敷陈，多人所不敢言。旋任军机大臣，再迁工部尚书。谢病归。二十八年，卒，谥恭勤。子骏祥，翰林院侍读。
