清史稿卷三百五十一 列传一百三十八：
金士松，字亭立，江苏吴江人，寄籍宛平。举顺天乡试，改归原籍。乾隆二十五年，成进士，选庶吉士，授编修。迁侍读，直懋勤殿写经。典福建乡试，督广东学政。直南书房，累迁詹事，以生母忧归。服阕，会高宗南巡，迎銮道左，回京督顺天学政。以寄籍辞，诏免回避，联任凡七年。累擢礼部侍郎，调兵部。五十年，帝御乾清宫，赐千叟宴。士松年五十七，未得与，特命试诗，赏赉同一品。调吏部，直讲经筵，校勘石经，迁左都御史。嘉庆元年，再与千叟宴，迁礼部尚书。二年，调兵部，罢直书房。五年，扈跸谒裕陵，途次婴疾，遣御医诊视。还京，卒，谥文简，祀贤良祠。
