金农，浙江仁和人。
清史稿卷五百四 列传二百九十一：
农，字寿门，号冬心，浙江仁和人。布衣，荐鸿博，好学癖古，储金石千卷。中岁，游迹半海内，寄居扬州，遂不归。分隶小变汉法，又师禅国山及天发谶两碑。截毫端，作擘窠大字。年五十，始从事於画。初写竹，师石室老人，号稽留山民。继画梅，师白玉蟾，号昔耶居士。又画马，自谓得曹、韩法。复画佛，号心出家盦粥饭僧。其点缀花木，奇柯异叶，皆意为之。问之，则曰：“贝多龙窠之类也。”性逋峭，世以迂怪目之。诗亦鑱削苦硬。无子，晚手录以付其女。殁后，罗聘搜辑杂文编为集。
