郭任，丹徒人。
明史卷一百四十一 列传第二十九：
任，丹徒人，一曰定远人。廉慎有能。建文初，佐户部。饮食起居俱在公署。时方贬削诸藩，任言：“天下事先本后末则易成。今日储财粟，备军实，果何为者？乃北讨周，南讨湘。舍其本而末是图，非策也。且兵贵神速，苟旷日持久，锐气既竭，姑息随之，将坐自困耳。”燕王闻而恶之。兵起，任与同官卢迥主调兵食。京师失守被擒，不屈死之。子经亦论死，少子戍广西。
