郑俨，字季然，荥阳人。容貌壮丽。初为司徒胡国珍行参军，因缘为灵太后所幸，时人未之知也。迁员外散骑侍郎、直后。灵太后废，萧宝夤西征，以俨为开府属。孝昌初，太后反政，俨请使还朝，复见宠待。拜谏议大夫、中书舍人，领尝食典御。昼夜禁中，宠爱尤甚。俨每休沐，太后常遣阉童随侍，俨见其妻，唯得言家事而已。与徐纥俱为舍人。俨以纥有智数，仗为谋主；纥以俨宠幸既盛，倾身承接。共相表里，势动内外。城阳王徽微与之合，当时政令归于俨等。迁通直郎、散骑常侍、平东将军、武卫将军、华林都将、右卫将军、散骑常侍、中军将军、中书令、车骑将军，舍人、常侍如故。肃宗崩，事出仓卒，天下咸言俨计也。尔朱荣举兵向洛，以俨、纥为辞。荣副京师，俨走归乡里。俨从兄仲明先为荥阳太守，至是，俨与仲明欲据郡起众。寻为其部下所杀，与仲明俱传首洛阳。子文宽，从出帝殁关西。
