晋书卷八十一 列传第五十一：
遐字应远。勇力绝人，气盖当时，时人方之樊哙。桓温以为参军，数从温征伐，历冠军将军，数郡太守，号为名将。襄阳城北沔水中有蛟，常为人害，遐遂拔剑入水，蛟绕其足，遐挥剑截蛟数段而出。枋头之役，温既怀耻忿，且忌惮遐之勇果，因免遐官，寻卒。宁康中，追赠庐陵太守。
岳弟逸，字茂山，亦有武干。岳卒后，以逸监交广州、建威将军、平越中郎将、广州刺史、假节。
