邓显鹤，新化人。
清史稿卷四百八十六 列传二百七十三：
邓显鹤，字子立，新化人。少与同里欧阳绍洛以诗相励，游客四方，所至倾动。嘉庆九年举人。厌薄仕进，一以篡著为事，系楚南文献者三十年，学者称之曰湘皋先生。内行修，事兄白首无间，抚其子勤於己子。尤笃於师友风义。尝以为洞庭以南，服岭以北，屈原、贾谊伤心之地也，历代通人志士相望，而文字湮郁不宣。乃从事搜讨，每得贞烈遗行於残简断册中，为之惊喜狂拜，汲汲彰显，若大谴随其后。凡所著有资江耆旧集、沅湘耆旧集、楚宝增辑考异、武冈志、宝庆志、朱子五忠祠传略及续传、明季湖南殉节传略。又易述、毛诗表、南村草堂诗文集，共数百卷。晚授宁乡训导。卒，年七十五。
