宋史卷三百五十二 列传第一百一十一：
赵野，开封人。登政和二年进士第。历监察御史、殿中侍御史，试起居舍人兼太子舍人，俄迁中书舍人、给事中、大司成，拜刑部尚书、翰林学士。时蔡京、王黼更秉政，植党相挤，一进一退，莫有能两全者，野处之皆得其心，京、黼亦待之不疑。宣和七年，拜尚书右丞，升左丞。
靖康初，为门下侍郎。徽宗东幸，诏野为行宫奉迎使。以左司谏陈公辅言，罢野行，出为北道都总管，颜岐副之。已而落职，提举嵩山崇福宫。元帅府建，命与范讷为宣抚司，守东京，寻帅师屯宛亭，以待王师。王襄既责，野亦降安远军节度副使，邵州安置。
建炎元年，复起知密州。时盗贼充斥山东，车驾如淮南，命令阻绝，野弃城去。军校杜彦等乘间作乱，追野以归。彦坐堂上数之曰："汝知州而携家先遁，此州之人，谁其为主？"野不能应，遂见杀。家属悉为贼所分，唯子学老得免。
