赵仁本，陕州河北人。
旧唐书卷八十一 列传第三十一：
赵仁本者，陕州河北人也。贞观中，累转殿中侍御史。自义宁已来，诏敕皆手自纂录，临事皆暗记之，甚为当时所伏。会有敕差一御史远使，同列递相辞托，仁本越次请行，言于治书侍御史马周曰："食君之禄，死君之事。虽复跋涉艰险，所不敢辞也。"及回，事又称旨，擢吏部员外郎。乾封中，历迁东台侍郎、同东西台三品，寻转司列少常伯，知政事如故。时许敬宗为右相，颇任权势，仁本拒其请托，遂为敬宗所构，俄授尚书左丞，罢知政事。咸亨初卒官。
史臣论曰：崔、卢数公，皆以忠清文行，致位枢要。恪恭匪懈，以保名位，诚所谓持盈守成，太平之君子。然敬玄之擢太玄，可谓能举善者矣。义琰腐材而不营第舍，可谓有俭德矣。彦玮独遏奸臣，仁本请当远使，终升辅相，不亦宜乎！
