清史稿卷四百八十六 列传二百七十三：
谭廷献，字仲修，仁和人。同治六年举人。少负志节，通知时事。国家政制典礼，能讲求其义。治经必求西汉诸儒微言大义，不屑屑章句。读书日有程课，凡所论箸，隐栝於所为日记。文导源汉、魏，诗优柔善入，恻然动人。又工词，与慈铭友善，相唱和。官安徽，知歙、全椒、合肥、宿松诸县。晚告归，贫甚。张之洞延主经心书院，年馀谢归，卒於家。
