袁恕己，沧州东光人。
旧唐书卷九十一 列传第四十一：
袁恕己，沧州东光人也。长安中，历迁司刑少卿，兼知相王府司马事。敬晖等将诛张易之兄弟，恕己预其谋议，又从相王统率南衙兵仗，以备非常。及事定，加银青光禄大夫，行中书侍郎、同中书门下三品，封南阳郡公，食实封五百户。将作少匠杨务廉素以工巧见用，中兴初，恕己恐其更启游娱侈靡之端，言于中宗曰："务廉致位九卿，积有岁年，苦言嘉谋，无足可纪。每宫室营构，必务其侈，若不斥之，何以广昭圣德？"由是左授务廉陵州刺史。恕己俄擢拜中书令，仍加特进，封南阳郡王，罢知政事。则天崩，遗制加实封满七百户。后与敬晖等累遭贬黜，流于环州。寻为周利贞所逼，饮野葛汁数升，恕己常服黄金，饵毒发，愤闷，以手掘地，取土而食，爪甲殆尽，竟不死，乃击杀之。建中初，赠太子太傅。
曾孙德文，举进士，开成三年，授秘书省校书郎。
