蒋猷，字仲远，润州金坛县人。举进士。政和四年，拜御史中丞兼侍读，有直声。尝论士风浮薄，廷臣伺人主意，承宰执风旨向背，以特立不回者为愚，共嗤笑之，此风不可长；辅臣奏事殿上，雷同唱和，略无所可否，非论道献替之礼；内侍省不隶台察，紊元丰官制；杨戩不当除节度使；赵良嗣不宜出入禁中。上皆嘉纳，至揭其章内侍省，且诏自今无得规图节钺。又疏孟昌龄、徐铸等奸状。迁兵部尚书兼礼制局详议官。七年，知贡举，改工部、吏部尚书。
以徽猷阁直学士知婺州。明年，请祠归。宣和末，召为刑部尚书兼资善堂翊善。靖康初，奉上表起居太上皇帝于淮阴，且特诏贬童贯。猷奏贯得罪天下，愿黜远之。太上以为然，亟令宣诏，趣贯赴贬所。遂奉太上还京，移兵部尚书，累官正议大夫。引疾，授徽猷阁直学士、提举嵩山崇福宫。卒。赠特进。
