蒋殷，不知何许人。幼孤，随其母适于河中节度使王重盈之家，重盈怜之，畜为己子。唐天复初，太祖既平蒲、陕，殷与从兄珂举族迁于大梁。太祖感王重荣之旧恩，凡王氏诸子，皆录用焉，殷由是继历内职，累迁至宣徽院使。殷素与庶人友珪善，友珪篡立，命为徐州节度使。乾化四年秋，末帝以福王友璋镇徐方，殷自以为友珪之党，惧不受代，遂坚壁以拒命。时华州节度使王瓒，殷之从弟也，惧其连坐，上章言殷本姓蒋，非王氏之子也。末帝乃下诏削夺殷在身官爵，仍令却还本姓，命牛存节、刘鄩等率军讨之。是时，殷求救于淮南，杨溥遣朱瑾率众来援，存节等逆击，败之。贞明元年春，存节、刘鄩攻下徐州，殷举族自燔而死，于火中得其尸，枭首以献之。
