清史稿卷四百八十五 列传二百七十二：
珥，字瑞一。为文长於序记，诗有别趣，书法亦工。惠士奇称之曰“南海明珠”。举鸿博，以母老，辞不试。乾隆初乡举，一试礼部，遂不出。
时粤东举鸿博者，又有番禺车腾芳，字图南。康熙末，与里人许遂同徵。至京后期，即乞终养归。后为海丰学官。学使吴鸿雅重之，尝从容问其诸子颇有应试者乎，腾芳以皆失学对，吴益叹异焉。
