清史稿卷二百四十 列传二十七：
苏弘祖，汉军正红旗人，初籍辽阳。崇德三年，以举人授户部启心郎，赐朝衣一袭，免丁四。八年，考满，授世职牛录章京。顺治初，授河南河北道。累迁陕西布政使，世职累进三等阿达哈哈番。十年，坐计典失实，左授福建福宁道。十三年，迁左佥都御史。十五年，授南赣巡抚。十七年，雩都寇发，弘祖斥资造火器，遣兵捣其巢，擒其渠李玉廷。别有土寇谢上逵、罗一鉴、徐黄毛等，据广东平远五指石，界连闽、赣。弘祖发兵讨之，上逵诈降，潜走匿红畬。弘祖遣将李宗韬以计擒斩一鉴、黄毛等七人，夜进兵，逐贼至柑子窝中木溪，毁五指石寨，攻红畬，贼缚上逵献，斩之。十八年，遣游击王把什捕治广昌土寇，乘雨攻不备，破滴水、羊石二寨，斩千馀级，擒其渠幸连升、萧来信。康熙元年，甄别督抚，弘祖解任。三年，卒。
