明史卷二百八十七 列传第一百七十五：
友信，字成之，隆庆二年进士。授顺德知县。岁赋率奸胥揽输，稍以所入啖长吏，谓之月钱。友信与民约，岁为三限，多寡皆自输，不取赢，闾里无妄费，而公赋以充。海寇窃发，官军往讨，民间驿骚。部内乌洲、大洲，贼所巢穴，诸恶少为贼耳目。友信悉勾得之，捕诛其魁，余党解散。乡立四应社，一乡有警，三乡鼓而援之，不援者罪同贼，贼不敢发。岁大凶，民饥死无敢为恶者。
初，友信虑民轻法，涖以严，后令行禁止，更为宽大，或旬日不笞一人。其治县如家，弊修堕举，学校城池，咸为更新。督课邑子弟，教化兴起。卒官，士民立祠奉祀。
友信博通经史，学有根柢。明代举子业最擅名者，前则王鏊、唐顺之，后则震川、思泉。思泉，友信别号也。
