清史稿卷四百九十六 列传二百八十三：
罗长崟，字申田，湖南湘乡人。光绪二十一年进士，改庶吉士，授编修。捐升道员，发江苏，改四川。赵尔丰督川边军事，长崟在幕府多赞画。宣统二年，简驻藏左参赞，驻藏大臣联豫以兵备任之。会阅新调川军，以譁譟故，与协统锺颖有隙，且覈锺颖入藏军资用浮冒，汰二十馀万，锺颖益嫉。三年五月，锺颖率师征波密，战屡挫。长崟驰往，夺其军，得锺颖失机状。方激励军士规进取，而军多会党，气嚣甚，长崟驭将又严。及秋，内地变作，军在藏者遽变，掠长崟私宅，波密军继之。絷长崟，屈辱之。偶得脱，自投崖下，未死，复曳之起，卒被戕。长崟之死，锺颖实阴嗾之，后家人愬得实，置锺颖於法。
