旧五代史卷九十一（晋书） 列传六：
罗周敬，字尚素，邺王绍威之弟三子也。绍威，《梁书》有传。周敬幼聪明，八岁学为诗，往往传于人口，起家授检校尚书、礼部员外郎。梁乾化中，以兄周翰节制滑台，卒于官，乃以周敬继之，命为两使留后，寻正授旄钺，时年十岁。未几，改授许州节度使，继加检校尚书左仆射。逾三年，征授秘书监、检校司空、驸马都尉，尚梁普安公主，旋移光禄卿。庄宗即位，历左右金吾大将军。初，唐天祐中，绍威尝建第于洛阳福善里，及庄宗入洛，以梁租庸使赵岩宅赐明宗。同光中，明宗在洛，以趋内稍远，乃召周敬议易其第，周敬诺之。后明宗即位，一日梦中见一人，仪形瑰秀，若素识者，梦中问曰：“此得非前宅主罗氏子？”及寤，访其子孙，左右对曰：“周敬见列明廷。”召至，果符梦中所见。明宗谓侍臣曰：“朕不欲使大勋之后久无土地。”因授同州节度使，加检校太保。长兴中，入为左监门卫上将军，四迁诸卫上将军。天福二年卒，时年三十二。赠太傅。
