程廷祚，上元人。
清史稿卷四百八十 列传二百六十七：
程廷祚，字启生，上元人。初识武进惲鹤生，始闻颜、李之学。康熙庚子岁，塨南游金陵，廷祚屡过问学。读颜氏存学编，题其后云：“古之害道，出於儒之外；今之害道，出於儒之中。颜氏起於燕、赵，当四海倡和翕然同气之日，乃能折衷至当，而有以斥其非，盖五百年间一人而已。”故尝谓：“为颜氏其势难於孟子，其功倍於孟子。”於是力屏异说，以颜氏为主，而参以顾炎武、黄宗羲。故其读书极博，而皆归於实用。乾隆元年，举博学鸿词，至京师，有要人慕其名，嘱密友达其意，曰：“主我，翰林可得也。”廷祚拒之，卒报罢。十六年，上特诏举经明行修之士，廷祚又以江苏巡抚荐，复罢归。卒，年七十有七。著易通六卷，大易择言三十卷，尚书通议三十卷，青溪诗说三十卷，春秋识小录三卷，礼说二卷，鲁说二卷。
