石家铭，湖南湘潭人。
清史稿卷四百九十六 列传二百八十三：
石家铭，字订西，湖南湘潭人。治刑名，游滇，佐大府幕，凡边防扼塞及通商各国科条章约靡不谙究。云南自界连英、法领土，交涉尤繁，文书往复，惟家铭随方应付，动中翾要，历任总督皆倚重之，以县丞累擢知府。宣统元年，补昭通，三年，调澂江，寻改开化。视事数月，审结滞狱数百起，多所平反。九月十五日，巡道所募新兵骤变，署中仅哨弁李世清率卫兵二十人守御，相持竟夜，子弹尽，仰药不死；和金屑服之，又不死；乃令世清燃火油，以身投入，世清哭随之，遂共焚死。世清，云南人。
