清史稿卷四百九十八 列传二百八十五：
王长祚，字尔昌，湖南衡阳人。父乔年，以富名。明季张献忠破衡阳，乔年出避，游骑絷长祚与次子璠求乔年所在，榜掠终不言。寇挽长祚发，加刃於颈，璠号泣求代。寇中有骑者言：“此父子皆孝，奈何杀之？”遂得释。
