鉴，字圆照，明尚书世贞曾孙。与时敏同族，为子侄行，而年相若。崇祯中，官廉州知府，甫强仕，谢职归。就弇园故址，营构居之，萧然世外。与时敏砥砺画学，以董源、巨然为宗，沈雄古逸，虽青绿重色，书味盎然。后学尊之，与时敏匹。康熙十六年，卒，年八十。
