新唐书卷一百九十一 列传第一百一十六：
王行敏，并州乐平人。隋末为盗长，高祖兴，来降，拜潞州刺史，迁屯卫将军。刘武周入并州，寇上党，取长子、壶关。或言刺史郭子武懦不支，且失潞，帝遣行敏驰往。既至，与子武不叶，贼围急，储偫空乏，众恫惧，行敏患之。会有告子武谋反，遂斩之。州民陈正谦者，以信义称乡里，出粟千石济军，由是人自奋，贼乃去。行敏又败窦建德兵于武陟。武德四年，督兵徇燕、赵，与刘黑闼战历亭，破之。既而释甲不设备，为黑闼所掩，缚致麾下。终不屈，贼遂斩之。且死，西向跪曰："臣之忠，惟陛下知之。"帝闻而悼惜。
黑闼之乱，死事者又有卢士叡、李玄通。
士叡客韩城。隋乱，结纳英豪。高祖与之旧，及兵兴，率数百人上谒汾阴，又使兄子谕降剧贼孙华，与刘弘基败隋将桑显和于饮马泉。擢累右光禄大夫，为瀛州刺史。黑闼遣轻骑破其郛，拒战半日，士见亲属系虏，乃溃。士叡为贼擒，欲使说下城堡，不从，见杀。
