明史卷一百四十五 列传第三十三：
王聪，蕲水人。以燕山中护卫百户从起兵。取蓟州，攻遵化，徇涿州。转战茌平、滑口，破南军，获马千五百。还守保定。从次江上，略南军舟济师。累迁都指挥使。封武城侯，禄千五百石。偕同安侯火真备御宣府。屡奉诏巡边。从邱福出塞，战死，年五十三。追封漳国公，谥武毅。子琰嗣。聪及远尝谏福，故得褒恤。
