南史卷二十四 列传第十四：
王悦之，字少明，晋右军将军羲之曾孙也。祖献之，中书令。父靖之，司徒左长史，为刘穆之所厚，就穆之求侍中，如此非一。穆之曰："卿若不求，久自得之。"遂不果。悦之少厉清操，亮直有风检。为吏部郎，邻省有会同者，遗悦之饼一瓯。辞不受，曰："此费诚小，然少来不愿当之。"宋明帝泰始中为黄门郎、御史中丞。上以其廉介，赐良田五顷。以为侍中，在门下尽其心力。掌检校御府太官太医诸署。时承奢忲之后，奸窃者众。悦之按覆无所避，得奸巧甚多，于是众署共咒诅。悦之病甚，恒见两乌衣人捶之。及卒，上乃收典掌者十许人，桎梏之送淮阴，密令度瓜步江，投之中流。
