王怀隐，宋州睢阳人。
宋史卷四百六十一 列传第二百二十：
王怀隐，宋州睢阳人。初为道士，住京城建隆观，善医诊。太宗尹京，怀隐以汤剂祗事。太平兴国初，诏归俗，命为尚药奉御，三迁至翰林医官使。三年。吴越遣子惟濬入朝，惟濬被疾，诏怀隐视之。
初，太宗在藩邸，暇日多留意医术，藏名方千余首，皆尝有验者。至是，诏翰林医官院各具家传经验方以献，又万余首，命怀隐与副使王祐、郑奇、医官陈昭遇参对编类。每部以隋太医令巢元方《病源候论》冠其首，而方药次之，成一百卷。太宗御制序，赐名曰《太平圣惠方》，仍令镂板颁行天下，诸州各置医博士掌之。怀隐后数年卒。
昭遇本岭南人，医术尤精验，初为医官，领温水主簿，后加光录寺丞，赐金紫。
