王宇，祥符人。
明史卷一百五十九 列传第四十七：
王宇，字仲宏，祥符人。童丱时，日记万言，巡抚侍郎于谦奇之。登正统四年进士，授南京户部主事。秩满当转郎中，吏部以宇才，特用为抚州知府。为政简静，而锄强遏奸，凛不可犯，一府大治。
天顺元年，所司上其治行，诏赐诰命。顷之，抉山东右布政使，命抚恤所属饥民。明年迁右副都御史，巡抚宣府。中官严顺、都督张林等令家人承纳刍粮。宇劾奏。都御史寇深为解，帝切责深。寻命兼抚大同。石亨及从子彪骄恣，大同其旧镇地，征索尤横。宇抗疏论其奸，乞置之法。疏虽不行，闻者敬惮。督饷郎中杨益不能备刍藁，为宇所劾。户部庇之，宇并劾尚书沈固等。皆输罪。遭丧，起复为大理卿。固辞，不许。
宇刚介，所至有盛名。居大理，平反为多。七年卒。
