宋史卷三百二十九 列传第八十八：
王子韶，字圣美，太原人。中进士第，以年未冠守选，复游太学，久之乃得调。王安石引入条例司，擢监察御史里行，出按明州苗振狱。安石恶祖无择，子韶迎其意，发无择在杭州时事，自京师逮对，而以振狱付张载，无择遂废。中丞吕公著等论新法，一台尽罢。子韶出知上元县，迁湖南转运判官。御史张商英劾其不葬父母，贬知高邮县。由司农丞提举两浙常平。入对，神宗与论字学，留为资善堂修定《说文》官。官制行，为礼部员外郎，以入省后期，改库部。
元祐中，历吏部郎中、卫尉少卿，迁太常谏官。刘安世言："熙宁初，士大夫有'十钻'之目，子韶为'衙内钻'，指其交结要人子弟，如刀钻之利。又陷祖无择于深文，搢绅所共鄙薄，岂宜污礼乐之地！"改卫尉卿。安世复言："七寺正卿班少常上，因弹击而获超迁，是启侥幸也。"乃出知沧州。入为秘书少监，迎伴辽使，御下苛刻，军吏因被酒刃伤子韶及其子。又出知济州，建言乞追复先烈以贻后法，复以太常少卿召，进秘书监，拜集贤殿修撰、知明州，卒。崇宁二年，子相录元祐中所上疏稿闻于朝，诏赠显谟阁待制。
