隋书卷七十一 列传第三十六：
独孤盛，上柱国楷之弟也。性刚烈，有胆气。炀帝在藩，盛以左右从，累迁为车骑将军。及帝嗣位，以藩邸之旧，渐见亲待，累转为右屯卫将军。宇文化及之作乱也，裴虔通引兵至成象殿，宿卫者皆释仗而走。盛谓虔通曰："何物兵？形势太异也！"虔通曰："事势已然，不预将军事。将军慎无动。"盛大骂曰："老贼是何物语！"不及被甲，与左右十余人逆拒之，为乱兵所杀。越王侗称制，赠光禄大夫、纪国公，谥曰武节。
