沈铢，真州扬子人。
宋史卷三百五十四 列传第一百一十三：
沈铢，字子平，真州扬子人。父季长，王安石妹婿也。铢少从安石学，进士高第，至国子直讲。季长领监事，改审官主簿，坐虞蕃事免归。元祐置诉理所，被罪者争自列，铢独不言。
绍圣初，起为太学博士、秘书省正字、崇政殿说书，受旨同编类元祐臣僚章疏。以进讲为解，拜右司谏，辞，改起居郎、权中书舍人。吴居厚除户部尚书，铢论其使京东时聚敛，诏具实状，不能对，罚金。讲《诗·南山有台》，至"万寿无期"，以为此太平之基，立而可久之应，哲宗屡首肯之。真拜中书舍人兼侍讲，俄引疾，以龙图阁待制知宣州卒。弟锡。
