宋史卷二百六十四 列传第二十三：
继宗字世卿，伦为枢密副使，以荫补西头供奉官。伦作相，授水部员外郎，加朝散大夫。迁都官、职方，知浚仪县，转屯田郎中，出知单州。代归，命使京东计度财赋。濮州土贡银，课民织造，不折省税；郓州节度配属县纳药物，皆为民病。继宗归，历言于上以除其弊。至道末，领淮南转运使。
继宗贵家子，倦于从吏，既因疾，以将作少监致仕。东封岁，求扈从，复授职方郎中。礼毕，改太仆少卿、判吏部南曹，迁光禄少卿、判三司三勾院。
继宗善营产业，厚于养生，不饮酒，不嗜音律，而喜接宾客，终日宴集无倦。大中祥符五年，卒，年五十五。前后录其子惟温、惟清、惟恭，并为将作监主簿。惟温后至秘书丞；惟清娶密王女宜都县主，至内殿承制。
