清史稿卷四百九十六 列传二百八十三：
汪承第，字棣圃，江苏太仓州人。由州学生佐学幕，以知县发四川。宁远夷乱，檄运兵械，至则知府黄承麟留办剿抚事，充营务处，摄大足。川汉铁路拟派租股，请岁减万馀金，民困以纾。摄永川，解散公口秘密会，编练保甲，群盗屏迹。既受代，大吏仍以营务属之。同志军起，双流境尤嚣张，檄摄县事，捕诛其尤者，人心少定。未几，省城变作，土寇四起，以事至簇桥，被困，中枪死，十月二十日也。
