江秉之，济阳考城人。
南史卷三十六 列传第二十六：
江秉之，字玄叔，济阳考城人也。祖逌，晋太常。父纂，给事中。秉之少孤，弟妹七人并幼，抚育姻娶，尽其心力。宋少帝时，为永世、乌程令，以善政著名东土。征为建康令，为政严察，部下肃然。后为山阴令，人户三万，政事繁扰，讼诉殷积，阶庭常数百人。秉之御繁以简，常得无事。宋世唯顾顗之亦以省务著绩，其余虽复刑政修理，而未能简事。以在县有能，出补新安太守。元嘉十二年，转在临海，并以简约见称，卒于官。所得秩悉散之亲故，妻子常饥寒。人有劝其营田，秉之正色答曰："食禄之家，岂可与农人竞利？"在郡作书案一枚，去官留以付库。秉之宗人邃之，字玄远，颇有文义，撰《文释》传于世，位司徒记室参军。秉之子徽，尚书都官郎，吴令。元凶杀徐湛之，子徽以党与见诛。子谧。
