清史稿卷四百七十 列传二百五十七：
让梨，字劭钦，籍湘乡。少与王珍子诗正友善。诗正援台湾，战失利，尝负之以免，军中咸壮之。积勋至守备。转战新疆、河州、西宁，数有功，累擢参将，赐号铿色巴图鲁。既，还长沙，隶忠浩麾下。宣统二年，补镇筸镇标中军游击。明年，武汉事起，忠浩电调援长沙。次辰州，闻省城乱，乃扼辰龙关，誓死守。筸兵故悍锐，为民军所惮。时总兵周瑞龙持两端，其子瓒赍金至，将以饵筸兵，哨弁李凤鸣潜告让梨，得为备。瑞龙称疾，檄让梨还，代以他将。让梨乃上书责以大义灭亲，辞激昂，且传檄捕瓒，瓒遁。已而瑞龙降，道府官委印绶去。让梨痛哭，犒遣军士，独棹小舟至清浪滩，踊身入水。舟子泅出之，让梨恚甚，曰：“奚活我为？”瓒出代其军，遣人追絷让梨及其子传孔，锁送长沙。迳常德，遇龙璋巡按西路，劝之不屈，遂斩之。临刑，肃衣冠北乡拜，观者万馀人，皆泣下。传孔释还。
有陈萁者，让梨从子壻也。当让梨被缚时，萁即夺起击缚者，仆一人，攒刃交下，伤其首，断一足，并死之。
