清史稿卷二百三十一 列传十八：
鈵，荫祖子。事圣祖，自佐领授兵部员外郎。十三年，以参将从征吴三桂，再迁御史。二十七年，湖广夏逢龙为乱，上授鈵湖北按察使。累擢兵部侍郎。三十五年，上亲征噶尔丹，命与左都御史于成龙等督饷。三十七年，授山东巡抚，以疾辞，改授安徽巡抚。三十九年，疾未瘳，被弹事罢。四十二年，山东饥，鈵请往助赈，卒於赈所。
