旧五代史卷十九（梁书） 列传九：
李重允，宋州下邑人。状貌雄武，初在黄巢党中，推为刚鸷。唐中和四年五月，同尚让、李谠等率众至繁台，与太祖之军相拒。及巢寇渐衰，乃率众来降。太祖素识之，拔用不次，署为先锋步军都头。与胡真援河阳，逼怀州。重允以部下兵突之，射中蕃将安休休。又令与李谠率骑军至陕，应接郭言，回次渑池，破贼帅黄花子之众，改滑州夹马指挥使。蔡贼围汴，重允以步兵攻下三寨，掳获甚多。太祖大举伐宗权，俾重允以滑兵为先锋。及东讨徐州，下丰、萧二邑，转右厢马步军指挥使。大顺元年秋，从郴王友裕收泽州，与晋军战于马牢川，王师败绩，回守河阳。太祖谓诸将曰：“李谠、重允违我节度，不能立功，颇辜任使。”于是与李谠并戮于河桥。
