宋史卷四百四十八 列传第二百七：
曾怘，字仲常，中书舍人巩之孙。补太学内舍生，以父任郊社斋郎，累官司农丞、通判温州，须次于越。
建炎三年，金人陷越，以琶八为帅，约诘旦城中文武官并诣府，有不至及藏匿、不觉察者，皆死。怘独不往，为邻人纠察逮捕，见琶八，辞气不屈。且言："国家何负汝，乃叛盟欺天，恣为不道。我宋世臣也，恨无尺寸柄以死国，安能贪生事尔狗奴邪？"时金人帐中执兵者皆愕眙相视，琶八曰："且令出。"左右尽驱其家属四十口同日杀之越南门外，越人作窖瘗其尸。金人去，怘弟朝散郎｛旦心｝时知杭州余杭县事，制大棺敛其骨，葬之天柱山。事闻，予三资恩泽，官其弟怤、子崈、兄子｛宀居｝，皆将仕郎。
方遇难时，崇甫四岁，与乳母张皆死。夜值小雨，张得苏，顾见崇亦苏，尚吮其乳，郡卒陈海匿崇以归。后仕至知南安军。怘从弟悟。
