徐岳，东海人，尚书左仆射、开府仪同三司、简肃公勉之少子也。少方正，博通经史。初为东阳王琮师。琮为皇太子，授詹事。及嗣位，除侍中、左民尚书，俄迁尚书仆射。从琮入隋，授上开府仪同三司。终于陈州刺史。子凯，秘书郎。岳兄矩，有文学，善吏事。颇黩于货贿。位至度支尚书。子敬，鸿胪卿。
