宋史卷四百二十八 列传第一百八十七：
张绎字思叔，河南寿安人。家甚微，年长未知学，佣力于市，出闻邑官传呼声，心慕之，问人曰："何以得此？"人曰："此读书所致尔。"即发愤力学，遂以文名。预乡里计偕，谓科举之习不足为，尝游僧舍，见僧道楷，将祝发从之。时周行己官河南，警之曰："何为舍圣人之学而学佛？异日程先生归，可师也。"会程颐还自涪，乃往受业，颐赏其颖悟。读《孟子》"志士不忘在沟壑，勇士不忘丧其元"，慨然若有得。未及仕而卒。颐尝言"吾晚得二士"，谓绎与尹焞也。
