清史稿卷四百十六 列传二百三：
弟树屏，从诸兄治团练，积劳至千总。从树珊至江苏，转战松江、苏州、常州，屡有功，累擢副将。从剿捻匪，迭破贼於丰县、沛县、鱼台。及树珊战殁德安，树屏分领树字三营驻周家口。东捻平，论功以提督记名，赐号额腾额巴图鲁。
同治六年，山西巡抚李宗羲奏调，令募新军六营分驻大宁、吉州、壶口防回匪。十二年，兼统水陆驻河津，分防归化、包头。光绪二年，甘肃流贼犯河套后山，督军追击，连败之，擒其渠曹洪照。事平，加头品顶戴。四年，授太原镇总兵，值旱灾，树屏捐运赈粮，出军食之馀平粜济饥民。六年，移防包头。九年，调大同镇。十三年，因伤病乞罢，十七年，卒，以前劳赐恤。
