旧唐书卷一百八十八 列传第一百三十八：
张志宽，蒲州安邑人。隋末丧父，哀毁骨立，为州里所称。贼帅王君廓屡为寇掠，闻其名，独不犯其闾，邻里赖之而免者百余家。后为里正，诣县称母疾，急求归。县令问其状，对曰："母尝有所苦，志宽亦有所苦。向患心痛，知母有疾。"令怒曰："妖妄之辞也！"系之于狱。驰验其母，竟如所言。令异之，慰喻遣去。
及丁母忧，负土成坟，庐于墓侧，手植松柏千余株。高祖闻之，遣使就吊，授员外散骑常侍，赐物四十段，表其门闾。
